from mom: a recipe book

this semester-long typography assignment asked students to create a book with the contents of their choosing. developing a custom grid system was the main objective of the assignment, along with including relevant visuals and allowing the content to inform the design. i designed a recipe book of my favorite childhood recipes from my mother. i used the motif of her retro recipe box, where she keeps all the recipes on handwritten notecards. the color scheme was also informed by this old recipe box, and my mom’s handwriting is used as a visual element throughout the book.
