location
Location is an exploration of my identity through geography, chronology, and self-reflection. Each chapter of this zine features three words that I would use to describe myself based on three natures: biogenic, sociogenic, and idiosyncratic. The first chapter being biogenic, second being sociogenic, and third being idiosyncratic. Inspired by my collection of film photographs I’ve taken over the years, each chapter is also representative of a geographic region of the USA that is correlated with a stage in my life, and includes personal images from those locations. Chapter one is the West Coast, where my childhood was. Chapter two is not chronologically exact, but represents places I often visit that have influenced me, which metaphorically translates to the meaning of sociogenic (outside and environmental influences). Chapter three is the East Coast, where I have spent the majority of my teenage and adult life developing into who I am today.
