fast fashion facts
in experience and interaction design class, students were asked to create a “tactical media intervention,” or a detailed proposal of one they could execute theoretically. i proposed a spoof website of a popular fast fashion brand. it appears as a regular shopping website, but when the user selects an item to view, they are instead given several facts about the reality of that garment’s history. using dark humor and sarcasm, i wanted to explore the concept of “trends,” sustainability, environmental impact of waste from the fashion industry, and inhumane labor practices.
