designLAB architects,
marketing and design co-op

during my second co-op, i worked at designLAB architects in an interdiscplinary marketing and graphic design role. i assisted the Director of Marketing with the business research, writing, layout and graphic design of proposals. i also worked on other outbound marketing initiatives such as website upkeep, social media, and awards submissions.

project pages
project pages were used to show designLAB’s relevant work to potential clients in proposals. during my time at designLAB, i redesigned all project pages and created a master document that included all of the firm’s projects. this allowed for greater efficiency when putting together proposals, as the marketing team could find any project page in one place instead of either redesigning it or hunting through old proposals. it also allowed for uniformity of layout and copy in all proposals. project pages include photographs, summaries, basic details (such as location, cost, square footage), and awards earned.

as part of one proposal, a separate sample report booklet of past projects was requested in the RFP for submission. shown are select pages of the report which covered recently finished randall public library.

proposal approach section examples
examples of various approach section spreads. every proposal included a unique approach section of text and image that was catered to the potential client and their project.

historic context section examples
many potential projects involved a historic location, space or structure. in this case, historic context sections were included in the proposal to provide the client with our understanding of the site’s history and how designLAB planned to work with it. these are examples from dartmouth college proposals.

wellesley college wayfinding: donor signage study
during my time at designLAB, i was given the opportunity to participate in a client project (non-marketing initiative) to redesign wellesley college’s campus wayfinding system. for this client workshop, i designed and mocked up several donor signage options.
